These are pieces of equipment that I've come across that have made genuine, value-add impact on my activities

Just spectacular trail running and hiking shoes. They breathe well, they're super light, they have excellent traction, and they're very comfortable (go up TWO sizes, La Sportiva created their own measurements that don't line up with other manufacturers'!). They do dry out quickly when they get wet, but they have zero water proofing so they won't work very well for snowy or slushy trails where foot warmth could be a critical factor. However, these are the best trail shoes I've ever worn.

A quickdraw that has a rigid bar inside the sheeth to give you a couple extra inches when you're trying to reach a bolt that you can't quite seem to get to. Absolute treasure on sketchy routes with not a lot of great holds.

It's a collapsable stick clip that you can clip to your harness and take up a route with you to get through sketchier areas with less anxiety (please be aware of the danger of falling on a stick clip if you do take this up a route with you).
